First Quarter Reflections: Lessons Learned in the Digital World

Image
This quarter, I learned about the history of the internet and its incredible evolution over time. It was truly captivating to trace its journey from the humble beginnings of ARPANET to the complex and interconnected digital world we navigate today. I also gained invaluable practical skills in creating a blog account and crafting engaging blog posts. It was a completely new experience for me, and I thoroughly enjoyed learning how to express my thoughts, share my ideas, and connect with a wider audience through the power of online writing. Curious about what I found most interesting?     One of the most significant challenges I faced was the daunting task of memorizing the internet timeline. There were so many dates, events, and pivotal moments to remember, and it felt like an uphill battle to keep them all straight in my mind. I also grappled with feelings of self-doubt and a lack of confidence in my writing abilities when it came to creating compelling blog posts. I was ...

Hope for the Philippines: A Letter to the President

Image
Dear Mr. President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.,           I hope this letter finds you not just in good health, but also in high spirits, ready to tackle the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. I’m writing to you today to share some thoughts and heartfelt concerns about our beloved nation. I firmly believe that by joining hands and working together, we can overcome any obstacle and pave a brighter, more promising path for all Filipinos. Your leadership, Mr. President, is the compass that guides us toward progress. What issues weigh most heavily on my mind as a young Filipino, you might ask?      One area I’m particularly interested is in education. Ensuring that every Filipino child, regardless of their background or circumstances, has access to a quality education is not just a goal; it’s a moral imperative. By investing wisely in our schools, nurturing our dedicated teachers, and developing innovative educational programs, we can empower ...

Nutrition Month: A Call to Action for Food Security

Image
This year's Nutrition Month theme, "Food Nutrition Security: Maging Priority! Sapat na Pagkain, Karapatan Natin!", really got me thinking about how important food is in our lives. It's not just about having enough to eat, but also about having healthy food, healthy food that fuels our growth, strengthens our defenses, and keeps us thriving. This year's advocacy is a powerful call to action, urging us to ensure that everyone, regardless of their economic status or geographic location, has consistent access to safe, affordable, and nutritious food. It's a mission to raise awareness about the fundamental importance of food security and optimal nutrition for the overall well-being of all Filipinos. What role did I play in promoting this vital message to my community?      Our section, 10-Marconi, participated by creating nutri-jingle. and I was lucky enough to help make the props. It was fun working with my classmates, and we poured our hearts and souls in...

Beyond the Silence: The World of Khaizel

Image
Hi! My name is Khaizel Faith Artates Tubera, and I’m currently 15 years old, I’m still figuring things out, just like anyone else. I was born on June 30, 2010, in a small town called Busiing Sur, San Ildefonso, Ilocos Sur, and I currently live in Busiing Norte, San Ildefonso, Ilocos Sur. I only have one sibling, and I am the first born on both my mother’s and father’s sides. Being the oldest of one child and the first grandchild on both sides makes life interesting. Since I was little, I’ve been a bit sickly, which, in a strange way, has given me a deep appreciation for those moments when I feel truly well. Wanna know more about how that shaped me? Keep reading!      My name, Khaizel, comes from a magazine my parents found, and Faith is from the Tagalog word “pananampalataya”, meaning faith. Funny enough, w hen I was a child, my grandmother used to call me “pencil case” because she had difficulty pronouncing my name. People often describe me as quiet a...
