Beyond the Silence: The World of Khaizel

Hi! My name is Khaizel Faith Artates Tubera, and I’m currently 15 years old, I’m still figuring things out, just like anyone else. I was born on June 30, 2010, in a small town called Busiing Sur, San Ildefonso, Ilocos Sur, and I currently live in Busiing Norte, San Ildefonso, Ilocos Sur. I only have one sibling, and I am the first born on both my mother’s and father’s sides. Being the oldest of one child and the first grandchild on both sides makes life interesting. Since I was little, I’ve been a bit sickly, which, in a strange way, has given me a deep appreciation for those moments when I feel truly well. Wanna know more about how that shaped me? Keep reading!

My name, Khaizel, comes from a magazine my parents found, and Faith is from the Tagalog word “pananampalataya”, meaning faith. Funny enough, when I was a child, my grandmother used to call me “pencil case” because she had difficulty pronouncing my name. People often describe me as quiet and shy, and that’s pretty accurate. I’m like a guitar – it doesn’t make a sound unless someone plays it. Just like me, I usually don’t talk unless someone starts a conversation with me. I’ve always felt safest in my comfort zone, where I can protect my peace, where I can be myself without worrying about what others think. However, as I’ve grown older, I’ve realized how my shyness negatively impacts my studies, social interactions, and the ability to showcase my talents and abilities. So, I’m pushing myself to be more outgoing. Curious about how I’m doing that?

It’s true, I’m often seen as the quiet one, but here’s a secret: my silence isn’t a fixed trait; it’s more like a reflection of my surroundings, it's just a way of protecting myself. I tend to hold back until I feel it’s safe to truly be myself. But when I’m with those rare souls who see, hear, and accept me as I am, something magical happens. I come alive. I laugh more, I tell stories, and I let my guard down. It’s not about being shy; it’s about carefully choosing who gets to see the real me. Silence has been my shield, protecting my heart from those who might not understand. Some will only see the surface, and that's okay. But for those who take the time to know me deeper, they’ll discover a vibrant, multifaceted person brimming with warmth and affection. I may seem quiet on the outside, but within me lies a universe waiting to be explored by kindred spirits. What kind of world lies beneath that quiet exterior? Well...

When I’m not lost in thought, you’ll find me strumming a guitar or ukulele, strategizing over a chessboard, or getting lost in the logic of a sudoku puzzle. And I have a secret passion for cooking! I aspire to be a successful doctor, a dream I’ve held since childhood. I envision specializing in pediatrics or cardiology. I adore kids and feel a natural connection with them. The challenge of medicine excites me, and I’m dedicated to studying hard to make that dream a reality. Helping people through a medical career isn't just a goal; it's my calling.

So, there you have it! I’m Khaizel, a quiet yet fiercely determined teenager from Ilocos Sur. I’m fueled by music, puzzles, and the joy of cooking. I’m on a mission to become more outgoing, to embrace bravery, and to chase my dream of becoming a doctor. I’m excited about what the future holds—a life filled with happiness, purpose, and the chance to make a real difference. My family and my faith are my constant sources of inspiration, lighting the way forward.
