Always on Valentine’s Day: A Celebration of Love and Achievement

Who says Valentine’s Day is only for couples? This year, February 14 turned out to be extra special for me, not just because it’s the day of love, but because it was also our 3rd Recognition Day! Imagine, hearts and awards all in one day. I got to spend this meaningful occasion with the people who matter most, my family. It was a day filled with double the joy, double the love, and memories that I’ll keep close to my heart forever.

The day started with excitement as I got ready for school. I was nervous but happy, knowing that I would be going up on stage to receive an award—well, not exactly a big stage, but right there in our classroom. When my name was called, I walked proudly to the front of the room, and I could see my tita smiling from the back of the class, and that moment felt like the best Valentine’s gift I could ever ask for. Being recognized for my hard work was great, but having my family there to share it with me made it even more wonderful. It showed me that love isn’t just about gifts—it’s about being there for each other, cheering each other on, and celebrating every little win.

After the ceremony, we went out to eat to celebrate. We sat around a table, talking and laughing, and the food tasted even better because we were together. My parents told me how proud they were, and my siblings shared their own stories and wishes for me. We didn’t need fancy presents or grand gestures. Just being with them, sharing a meal, and feeling their love was enough. It made me realize that Valentine’s Day isn’t just about romantic love—it’s about all kinds of love, especially the love of family that stays with you always.

As the day came to an end, I thought about how lucky I am. I had a day that combined achievement and love, all with the people who love me unconditionally. This Valentine’s Day taught me that love is something we feel every day, not just on February 14. It’s in the way my family supports me, the way they celebrate my successes, and the way they are always there for me. So even though the day is over, the love stays. For me, with a family like mine, it’s always Valentine’s Day—every single day.
