My Dream, My Future: Choosing the Path That Calls to Me
Have you ever looked at the stars and wondered, “What will I be when I grow up?” For as long as I can remember, this question has filled my mind with excitement and a little bit of wonder. When I was just a little kid, I had one big dream that stood out above all others, I wanted to become a cardiologist. I imagined myself wearing a white coat, helping people with heart problems, and saving lives. That dream felt so big and bright, and it still stays with me today, even as I’ve thought of other paths I might take.
Now that I’m older, I’ve thought more about what I really want to do, and I have three main options for my future. My first choice is to become a nurse. I want to be a nurse because I love taking care of people. I want to be there for them when they are sick, hold their hands, and help them get better. It’s a job that needs a lot of kindness and hard work, and I know it would make me feel good to know I’m making a difference in someone’s life every single day.
But that old dream of being a cardiologist is still in my heart, so it’s my second option. I still find the human heart amazing—how it works and how important it is to our lives. The idea of being a doctor who specializes in hearts still excites me. I know it would take many years of studying and a lot of effort, but if it means I can help people with serious heart conditions, it would be worth it. That childhood dream hasn’t faded; it’s just become one of the important paths I’m considering.
My third option is to become an engineer. I’ve always liked figuring out how things work, building things, and solving problems. Being an engineer means I can use my creativity and math skills to make things that help people, like buildings, machines, or new technology. It’s a very different path from medicine, but it’s one that also feels right for me. I like the idea of creating something that can make the world a better, easier place to live in.
Choosing my future isn’t easy, and I still have a lot of thinking to do. Whether I become a nurse, follow my childhood dream of being a cardiologist, or choose to be an engineer, I know one thing for sure: I want to do something that makes me happy and helps others. My dreams are like a map, and even though I’m not sure which road I’ll take yet, I’m excited to walk down any of them. Whatever I choose, I’ll give it my all, because that’s what will make my future truly mine.
